i want to go to chongqingam confused about the process.

Question

I have my passport as of December 2022.  I want to go Chongqing China to visit my girlfriend.  I need either a visitor visa or a 10-year visa, preferably.  How can i plan a trip when the tourist visa has not opened yet, as of 2/14/2023?Can I at least apply now and get in the queue?  Should I call the consulate in NYC for advice?  I want to be ready and in line when China opens up the visa for tourists.  Would securing an interview there with a company be a better alternative to expedite a visit? Thank You.

For tourist visa, you can only wait now and make an appoinment for application once they are available. There is no such thing as a queue right now. What do you mean interviewing with a China company? If you find a job in China, you can apply for a work visa and come to China right now.
