If travelling from the UK to China as a non-Chinese with a wife in China, can such a person enter China for visiting family now for 6+ months or not? ...also, is a COVID-vaccine required or not?

You can now enter China to visit your wife for  6+ or even more months. As for COVID-vaccine issues, you'd better contact the embassy directly because things change. As I know, previously, people entering china were asked to take COVID-vaccines beforehand.
