Permanent Resident: I wanted to ask if you can help me with an answer to a few questions?

Hello and Happy New Year,

I wanted to ask if you can help me with an answer to a few questions?
1. I am presently in China and my work permit will expire the end of January and will not be renewed, I also have a resident permit that is valid until May 31, 2022. Once the work permit expires will my resident permit remain valid?
2. I have been married to a Chinese citizen for more than 13 years and I want to apply for my permanent residence, am I able to apply for either my permanent residence or Q1 visa while I am here in China.
Thank you very much for your time and help,
Fred

1. Yes, your residence permit would be valid.
2. Yes, you can apply for a permanent residence permit. Just submit your application to the public security administration of the local municipal people's government.

Hey Fred! I saw your post and I'm actually looking to solve the same problem. Any solutions? (I just cancelled my Z working visa because of issues with my employer, and tomorrow I will collect my passport with a T Visa. I'm also married to a Chinese local. Anything I can do to stay by her side?)

Too much useless information online, and this is about the best that I found that currently matches my situation. I have 25 days left.
