About:Chinese Embassies and Consulates

With valid work permit(Visa), can we bring our dependents(children aged 2-4) with us into Guangzhou?

Me and my wife have been offered a teaching job in Guangzhou, China. We are working closely with our employer in Guangzhou to get all the requirements done such as police clearance, academic record authentication, wedding authentication, birth cert, etc. We have done almost all and now we are left with just to get The PU Letter from our employer, upon receiving we can start to apply for working visa in our country's consulate. Fyi, we are currently staying in Malaysia.

My question is, are our dependents allowed to travel with us into China as I had been made aware that China won't issue visa for dependents for this time being. If this is true, what options can I take to ensure my children will be able to follow me into China? Or, how long would this policy stand?

Thank you for any information in advance.

Dear, if you can also get a PU letter for your children, then they can apply for the dependents visas while you are applying for the working visas.

Dear Flora,

Is it a must for my children to Apply a separate PU letter for them? To my understanding when my agent applied for our PU letter in China, our children's names were put under my name. So does that mean they are automatically under me? I am confused with this.

If the PU letter you got has your children's names, they can use this letter to apply for the visa.

Dear Flora,

Thank you for this info. It is very useful for me. I will follow your advice and once I get the PU letter for me and my wife(with our children's names in it), I will start to apply for all our visas in CVASC Kuala Lumpur.

How about the chances of getting it approved though? Do you think the chance is high and does the approval come from CVASC KL alone or does it also come from the authority of The Chinese(China) Government?
