Is a PU Letter still required if I have a z visa that expired in June 2020?

I already have a z visa that expired on 10 June 2020 due to the lockdown and closure of the borders. I am awaiting the new work permit from the school. Do I still require a PU Letter when I apply at the visa application centre. Please assist in the process hereof and do I have to pay again for a new visa.

Ronnelle, dear, you don't need to get the PU letter. As far as I know, you can renew your previous residence permit at the visa center for free. You can confirm this with the center before going there.
