How long is the waiting period to get your residence permit after you already got your work per

How long must you wait for your residence permit? I already got my work permit and are going to apply for residence tomorrow.
How can I speed up the process because I need to travel out of China soon.

when you apply for your resident permit the PSB will give you a recept,you can take that recept travel in China.it's kind like temporary passport and visa，you can use it for Transportation hotel check.but only in China.if you leave China then it can not work.
