Working Permit to enter china

Hi,

I would like to find out if my work permit (which expired after March 28 not before) can serve as a supporting document like a resident permit to apply a new permit in order to go to China? Even if the employer company, the purpose of visit (which is work), and address in China will be the same?
Because I wasn't allowed to travel during MCO till my visa expired, I was supposed to go to China then only can get my resident permit.
