Student to work visa

I have recently completed my master's degree from China in June 2020. After this, I got admission to Ph.D. But at the same time, I got a job offer from shanghai and the company gives me an offer letter. They have submitted my documents for work permit notice maybe I will get my work permit notice after the Chinese national holiday then I will come back to my home country to process my work visa. I just want to know that currently, I am on a student visa. Can I get a work visa and cancel my student visa. Will my student visa is automatically canceled. I am waiting for your reply.

If you can get a work permit soon, then you can convert your student visa to a work visa without leaving China. Your student visa will be automatically canceled.
