About:China Visa

Changing to X1 visa for language student

My cousin holds a Chinese Travel Document (issued when he was a minor) and a U.S. passport. He is admitted to a Chinese language program as a foreign student. The school issued JW202 form and asked him to apply for X1/X2 visa. Can he apply for the visa or have a change of status within China? thanks

If your cousin is elder than 12, he should apply for a X1/X2 visa. The Chinese Travel Document is not applicable to him any more.
