Purpose of residence visa

Dear Sir / Madam:
I am 67 years old. I married a Chinese woman in 2017 in China. I am in the U.S. now and want to go back to China to visit with relatives. I currently have a (Purpose of residence) 2 yr visa. I am not clear on exactly what is a purpose of residence visa means......
Can I travel to china now?

John, you can use this visa to enter China if it is still valid, but not now, because the Chinese border has been closed temporarily.
