About:Marriage Registration in China

Can I use a copy of birth certificate or only original?

Must the birth certificate be the original paper? My certificate is overseas, mailing it seems risky. I’d prefer to have a copy scanned. Is that legally acceptable?

Generally speaking it should be the original copy. You can talk with the local bureau to see if a scanned copy can be used.
