Changing jobs on Z visa

Hi, I am leaving my current job in a school in China in June. Most jobs for the new year start in August, therefore I would be unemployed for approx 2 months. Is this possible? Ie how long can I stay in the country without actively being employed/looking for another job on a Z visa?
