Purchasing a house in China will not automatically make you eligible for China PR. In other words, you still need to meet other requirements. If you have family members in China, you may apply for a visa that allows longer than three months in China.

Non-Chinese nationals are banned from purchasing real estates as tourists/snowbirds. Only those holding a residence permit and have stayed in China for more than one year are eligible (additional requirements may be liberally imposed by municipalities).
