About:China Visa Entries / Validity / Duration of Stay

Can I still get in 2 days before expiry?

My residents visa runs out on the 25th but if I fly in on the 24th can I still get in and then update my visa as I was supposed to do before Corvid-19 broke out?

That is not a wise thing to do at this point because 1) the government has repeated admitted that the situation is not yet under control and 2) you are supposed to renew your other-than-work-based residence permit 30 days before expiration and after that period it is the local NIA's prerogative to accept your renewal (which means that there will be no guarantees).

And if you have a work-based residence permit then under the new 2018 rule your deadline for extension has long passed (all documents must be submitted at least 30 days before the residence permit's expiration date).
