About:Former Residence of Lu Shaoxu

Language course visa (F)

I have been in China for almost 2 months and my visa expire mid March. My visa, till now, was for 3 months.
Since I was doing a language course in a private school in Beijing, my school has been closed and might stay for an unknown period of time.

I wanted to renew or extend my visa for 3 more months, if the situation starts getting better, so I can learn and actually have the classes I was supposed to have.
Do you think this is possible? Should I extend or renew? Everybody keeps telling me this isn't possible and I should, no matter what, leave China.

Correcting myself: People tell me I need to leave China in order to renew my visa.

*Even though the Corona situation, I chose to stay, knowing that there could be consequences. Even though all that, I really wanted to renew it so I could enjoy my stay better.

It is entirely up to you but this thing is far from over. If the National Immigration Administration in where you are staying is open then they will give you a month's humanitarian visa, no questions asked. If not then you will have to sit this one out until the quarantine in your city is lifted.

Also please note that this situation is tormenting many Chinese at the moment and there is really nothing to "enjoy" for them.

I understand the situation. I feel bad for China and for everybody getting affected with all this situation. But my travel was in the worst time possible, which is why I am trying to learn everything I can about China and Beijing in the meantime, to make the money I spent worth it.

I still have more than one month of visa left (F). I will wait the bureal to open again (seems like late february) and try going there to ask for more three months.
I am a bit afraid they say I can not renew it while being in Beijing, so I would need to go to Hongkong and issue a new visa there.

Thanks a lot for the words. Cheers!
