About:Chinese Embassy in Spain

Renew a residence visa but cannot return to China to do this

I hold a work permit and residence visa expiring end of February 2020 but cannot return to China to renew due to the virus. I am presently in Spain. How to renew?

Cliff, I think you have to wait until the work visa expires and apply for a new work visa. It's not possible to renew a China visa outside of China.

Problem is I need to apply for a visit visa to get into China to make the application!!

You can apply for a visit visa to China and then convert it to a work visa after you arrive in China.
