What do I do if who I’m visiting isn’t a Chinese citizen

I’m trying to go to china for a week or two to visit my boyfriend who studies there. I was planning on staying with him. He’s not a Chinese Citizen so would he be able to supply an invitation letter? If so how?

Yes, he can send you an invitation via email or fax, plus, you had better also ask him to send a copy of his passport and residence permit of China.
