About:Chinese Embassies and Consulates

do we all have to go to consulate

I am traveling with a group of 4 and we all live 6-9 hours away from our consulate (we must go to Chicago) can we send a friend on our behalf that lives there with all of our information or do we have to be there?

Mack, IIRC, you can send a friend on your behalf to submit the applications for all of you. However, you had better call the consulate to make it sure because in some countries applicants need to go to the consulate in person to have fingerprints collected.
