About:144-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Additional Passport Photo Requirement for 144 Hour Visa

For some reason I am thinking I read that I need one or more passport size photos in order to obtain this visa at the airport in Shanghai. Yet, I can't find any mentions of it and supposing if required, there would be plenty of reminders not to forget them. Does anyone know for certain if I should bring a few passport photos?

It is not a visa! You don’t need photos.

It's not a Visa so you don't need a passport size photo.

They just give you a stamp in your passport, it's a temporary permit for 6 days.

Your photo will be taken on the spot and retained for a variety of purposes, including facial recognition improvements (not kidding).
