About:240-hour Visa-free Transit in Shanghai, Zhejiang, and Jiangsu

Bejing tour to Shanghai port cruise pick up

I fly into Bejing on an organised tour. We have 3 nights in Bejing visiting Great Wall/Summer Palace/Temple of Heaven/Forbidden City. Then we go by high speed train to Xi'an fr 2 nights to visit Terracota Warriors and then fly to Shanghai and transfer straight to the cruise ship. We do not visit any other area of China on the cruise and we end up in Japan and fly home from there. We do not exceed the 144 hours in China but can we use the visa for this much travel around China?

You will need to apply for a tourist (L) visa before your trip. You cant leave the Beijing transit region on a 144 hour visa free transit. Crossing over to other regions is not allowed.
