Visa For Canton Fair

Hi there,
My boyfriend and I will be travelling to Guangzhou in May for the Canton Fair but live in Port Elizabeth where there is no China Visa Application Service Center.

We will have to make a special trip to Cape Town for a couple of days to apply and collect our Visa/passport is this possible? How long does it usually take to process and issue a Visa?
