About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Can anyone share their experience?

Please could someone share their experience of transit without a Visa in a city other than Beijing or Shanghai. I'm considering a Visa free transit within Chongqing, which is new to the scheme, so I'm worried that many might not be aware of it.

What do you do? Is there a counter with English signs?

Actually, Chongqing has newly adopted the 144h visa-free transit in December 2019. You need to contact the airline to make it informed of this before departure. There are counters with English signs in Chongqing Jiangbei Airport and Wanzhou Airport.

Please ignore the advice from Aaron - it is a complete waste of time contacting the airline in advance. Make sure you print your airline tickets on paper. When you check-in for your flight, the agent should check Timatic (an IATA database) with Chongqing as the transit point, not the destination. You will not have any problem at all.
