Dog and rat compatible for long term love?

Been with same person for 8 years but no commitment towards marriage. Can we sustain this? He is a Dog 7/14/58 and I am Rat 2/6/1960

I'm in a relationship with a dog and I'm a rat and I'm having the exact same problem. We've also been together for 8 years. We got an engagement ring a year ago and since then not a hint or speck of a sign of it being used.. i don't think it's going anywhere... 😞😑
