About:144-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Rome-Beijing-Hong Kong

Hi. I plan a trip in march.
we will fly from rome to beijing where we intend to apply for the 144 hour visa to stay in beijing for 5 days. from there we will fly to hong kong where we will stay for a few days and also visit macau. we will return to rome from hong kong via beijing with air china at the end of march.
do you think is ok?

Yes, it is. Of course, this answer is valid in case if Beijing is your only stop within mainland China.

You will print out your flight tickets and bring those printouts with you. Also, you will declare at check-in in Rome that you will travel to Hong Kong via Beijing using 144 hour visa free transit. After a short check of your flight tickets, you will be allowed to board the plane.

Upon your arrival in Beijing, you will approach 144 hour visa free transit where you will fill out a blue form. It is highly advisable to bring a printout of a confirmation of your accommodation booking in Beijing for at least the first overnight because you will encounter several questions regarding your accommodation in the blue form. After a short check. you will get a sticker in your passport and be allowed to exit the airport.

During your second stop in Beijing, you will be covered by 24 hour visa free transit if your layover will be less than 24 hours long. Again, have the printouts of your flight tickets with you even for this leg of your itinerary.

By the way, this is not 144 hour visa, but 144 hour visa free transit or in other words, there is no visa at all.
