About:China Visa

I have R visa, but no residence permit. is S visa possible for wife and children

I have R visa, but no residence permit is taken as our company only arranged a free accommodation in the staff quarters and they only said no need of residence permit. but now I want to invite my family to china, is it possible for them to apply for S visa without residence permit.

Yes, they can apply for S visa even if you don't have a residence permit. Usually R visa holders don't have to get a residence permit.
