How to know about the legality of Chinese companies

We received an email form a certain chinese company based in Zhuhai. and we talked business and they said they want to send us 300 tourists next year in the groups of 20 people to do a tour of 10 days in our Malawi. We have sent them itinerary, quotation and they sent us a contract agreement forms we filled and now they are saying we have to come there because the CEO wants to have a meeting with 3 top management of our company. So for the time being we have written them an email so they send us official invitation latter for us to get visa without problems. We are also wondering people we are communication on the email are now three of them the first one was Frank, then Rita and now Marta all these names comes without surname and we are not sure if these guys are true or human traffickers. Help how to know them about their legality and legitimacy.

Has it ever occurred to you to check their business license and travel agency license? In China it is illegal for a travel agency to operate international tours without being certified to do so by the provincial government. The certification can only be done two years after obtaining a domestic travel agency license.

They should at least have a business license then. Malawi is an odd choice for employee retreats though as most Chinese companies will simply send them to Thailand or Indonesia instead, and reputable companies will usually do this through a travel agency based in China which doesn't charge that much anyway. Lilongwe is very expensive to get to by air and resorts are also not cheap by Chinese standards.
