About:240-hour Visa-free Transit in Shanghai, Zhejiang, and Jiangsu

Urgent Help...Does the 144 hour visa applies in this case?

I am from Mexico, planning to travel from Istanbul to Shanghai on December 23, and then will fly to Tokio on December 28

The airline is China Southern, but the flight has a layover of 2 hours in Wuhan, China

With that layover, am I entitled to get the 144 hour exemption visa?

Thanks

Thank you very much for the useful information
I had not purchased the ticket as I was not sure I would be able to get the 6 day visa
I will have to buy a direct flight (more convenient, but more expensive)
Best regards

Javier, unfortunately, you are not eligible for 144 hour visa free transit in Shanghai exactly because of your short layover in Wuhan. The rule of 144 hour visa free transit is clear and it allows only one stop or to be more specific, only the stop within one transit area. In your case, you have two consecutive stops within two different transit regions and this limits you to only 24 hour visa free transit.

If you have already bough your tickets and you cannot make any change in your flight itinerary, you are advised to come in contact ASAP with CVASC (Chinese Visa Application Service Center) in Istanbul, to tell them about your situation and to obtain as soon as possible your Chinese tourist (G) or transit (G) visa. Indeed, there is no other way.
