About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Shanghai 72 Hours

I’m traveling from New Zealand, transit in Shanghai & onward through to London. Do I need a Visa?

No, you don't need any kind of visa and if you are a New Zealand citizen, you are eligible for 144 hour visa free transit in Shanghai. Of course, in case if Shanghai is your only stop within China. If you are not from 53 eligible countries for 144 hour visa free transit, then your entire transit time in Shanghai should be less than 24 hours and if this is the case, you will be eligible for 24 hour visa free transit and again, you don't need any kind of visa.

By the way, 72 hours visa free transi in Shanghai has been replaced by 144 hour visa free transit a couple of years ago.
