Would I qualify for a 72 hour visa with a flight itinerary from Bangkok Thailand to Shanghai China

If you just fly from Thailand to Shanghai, you are not qualified for 72-hour visa free. 72-hour visa free is also applied to the passengers traveling from one country/region to another country/region via one of the permitted areas in China.
