transit visa

hi my sister is travelling to USA from manila layover is at shanghai same airport

manila phillippines to shanghai, then shanghai to USA. does she need a transit visa, she only have a J1 visa for us for her internship... thank you

If her transit time in Shanghai is under 24h, then she doesn't need a visa.
