About:24-Hour Visa-Free Transit

14 hour layover ( Phuket -> Beijing -> Los Angeles

Hello, I am a US citizen along with 3 other US family members. We will be leaving from Phuket, Thailand to Beijing (14 hour layover) then back home to Los Angeles,USA. We want to visit the Great Wall of China with a lay over trip. Can you please let me know how we could correctly exit the airport with a 24 hour free visa.

First and the most important detail is that your itinerary is definitely eligible for 24 hour visa free transit and you don't need any kind of visa.

You will print out your flight tickets and have those printouts with you. Also, you will declare that you will travel to US (Los Angeles) via Beijing using 24 hour visa free transit. After a short inspection of your tickets, you will be allowed to board the plane.

Here you are advised to book a layover tour that will include the highlights that you need and not those of the travel agency. Also, you should print out a confirmation of your booked tours.

Upon your landing in Beijing, you will approach 24 hour visa free transit counter where you will apply for a temporary entry permit. You will be almost definitely granted one when you present your tour booking confirmation.
