Personal study of chinese culture

Hello,
I am planning on going to China to study martial arts at the Fa Wang Temple outside of DengFeng city about a year from now.

What I would like to do is after paying for the initial 3 months of training, i want to work in china to pay for the rest of my training which may take up to 3 years or more.

Im unsure of exactly which visa i would need and how to go about getting a temporary residents permit for this sort of venture. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

If you want to learn martial arts, you need to get an X visa. If you want to work in China, you need to get a Z visa. You cannot have two China visas at a time.
