Confirmed Seat?

Hello,

I have a ticket to a 3rd country, but since I plan to stay for 120 hours in Shanghai, I will not be able to obtain my boarding pass when I arrive in Shanghai. Will a confirmed airline ticket with confirmed date and seat booking be sufficient? or is a boarding pass to a 3rd country necessary for transit visa?

You don't need a seat assignment. A confirmed ticket is enough. By "confirmed seat" they just mean you can't fly standby.
