About:China Transit Visa

Able to get 24 hour transit without visa with 4 months valid passport?

I am a US national with a 12 hour layover in Shanghai enroute to the US. Will I be given a 24 hour transit without visa with a passport that is valid for only 4 more months?

The required minimum passport validity is three months on the day of travel so you don't need a visa, although when traveling through Shanghai, immigration will need to see a hotel reservation before deciding whether to grant you entry.
