About:144-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Barcelona - Beijing - Singapore

Hi, I will be traveling to Barcelona and transit in Beijing by taking Air China. When I booking the airticket, I noticed the transit time is more than 8 hours, so I decided to stop over 4 days in Beijing and bought the ticket with stopover I'm Beijing. In this case, am I entitled for 144 hours free visa? How can I get the official confirmation from China immigration as I worry if I'm not allowed to enter Beijing without the proper visa?

Thanks & regards,
Christy

If your passport is from one of the 53 approved countries and you only have the single landing in China then you can do the 144 hour visa free transit. The information on this page is current. The closest to official confirmation is TIMATIC. Use search engine and look for United airlines TIMATIC and the crew lookup tool will list the exemption. Enter china as transit country

"Crew" is typo and should say "free"
