What are the restrictions on the cosmetic items?

I am coming in from the US, and I have lots of female friends/girlfriend/families that I would like to bring gifts for, and many of them like cosmetics. I am planning to put them in the checked big baggage but just in case, what are the regulations on cosmetic products? Are there any limits on how much I can bring to China?

Well, as I know, there is no exact limitation. You just don't bring too much. And you need to put them into the checked luggage.
