About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

hey

Hello,
I am lithuanian. I'm travelling from SYDNEY to London I have 8 hours long wait in PVG Shanghai Pu Dong airpot. Can I use free visa for entrance in Shanghai while I'm waiting another flight?

Actually, you don't need any kind of visa for your flight because it is eligible for 24 hour visa free transit. Anyway, to be allowed to exit the airport, you will have to apply for a temporary entry permit upon your landing in Shanghai at 24 hour visa free transit counter. Your layover is exactly of the length where a Chinese immigration authorities have set an informal line between granting and denying a temporary entry permit. So, you should be aware that the issuing of this permit always depends on discretion of immigration authorities, so be prepared for both outcomes.
