144 hour visa stay start/stop

Upon arriving, when does the 144 hour count start? So as to not overstay the allowed time by accident. Thanks

Thanks. I thought I saw that somewhere else, but couldn’t remember. I contacted the Chinese consulate in Chicago with a few questions, but they only provided a short “faqs” list in response, most of which I already knew and it left a few answers unanswered. Thanks again.
