About:24-Hour Visa-Free Transit

help for transit free visa iin china

i have flight from INdonesia to USA by China Southern with below details,
1 CZ 626Z 24DEC 2 DPSCAN HK2 0030 0535
2 CZ 659I 24DEC 2 CANSFO HK2 1120 1055 (this flight have 1 stopover in wuhan)

do i need to apply visa from indonesia ? or i'm eligible for free china transit visa ?

Thank your for your kind answer.
I’m a bit confused, because the china southern said the check in counter in indonesia will reject passenger without chinese visa.

Buy i will try to confirm again with them.

Finally, china southern answer is i have to make china visa from indonesia on my own.
Because they said indonesia is not the country that eligible for free transit visa. 😓😓

So its will be more complicated to travel with china southern if you have transit for more than 1. (Even on the same flight number)

Marten, your itinerary is perfectly eligible for 24 hour visa free transit and you don't need a visa of any kind.

You will print out your flight tickets and have those printouts with you. Also, you will declare at check-in in Denpasar that you will travel to San Francisco via China using 24 hour visa free transit. After a short inspection of your tickets, you will be allowed to board the plane. Also, during the check-in procedure, you will ask whether your luggage will be tagged all the way to San Francisco, so that you know what will you have to do regarding this detail. It will be almost certainly tagged all the way to San Francisco, but you should ask, just for a case.

Upon your arrival in Guangzhou, you will apply for a temporary entry permit at 24 hour visa free transit counter to be allowed to continue your journey because the next flight is considered as a domestic one. This is all free of charge. After immigration formalities and security check, you will be allowed to proceed to the relevant boarding gate for your flight to Wuhan/San Francisco.

You will perform all exit formalities at Wuhan because although this flight from Guangzhou to San Francisco uses one flight number and also the same aircraft, the portion between Guangzhou and Wuhan is considered as a domestic one. This is not a problem at all and you will just be relaxed and enjoy your travel.

Marten, it is widely known that the customer support of practically all airlines are definitely clueless about the very basics of so many details, including the Chinese visa free transit rules. Also, they simply don't want to take any responsibility for you or for any other passenger and they will always tell that it is advisable to obtain a visa in advance. In your case they have done even a step more to present their ignorance by stating that you need a visa because you will have more than one stop within China.

This is simply not true and I invite you to visit Air New Zealand website where they have gladly offered an insight in Timatic that is the very basic for airport ground staff regarding all the details of visa, visa free transit and similar policies for the citizens of all the countries. You are advised to visit their website and to see the regulation by yourself and I assure you that you will see that you don't need any kind of visa for your itinerary.

Of course, my statement is valid if you are an Indonesian citizen.

Yes, actually i’m a bit disappoint that china southern told us to make visa, because if we have to make visa for this route (transit in Can + wuh to sfo)
Then we probably will choose another airlines.
I’m also sending an email to china southern global, but their answer is quite the same, the ask me to see on their web page

Marten, this has nothing to do with China Southern because all airlines are the same. Their customer services are all ignorant, clueless and they do not want to take any responsibility. In reality, China Southern is among them even the most correct because during longer layovers in Guangzhou they offer a free accommodation. Again, decision will be all yours.
