What is the Truth Of "RED SEALED Invitation" rumour?

Dear Sir,

I am Hoping to visit Dalian City - China with my Wife and Daughter. We have sufficient money in our bank accounts. And also we got an invitation letter from my friend in China with her Copy Of ID. But many people are telling that the Invitation Letter should be RED SEALED.

What is the truth of this rumour? Should I obtain a red sealed invitation letter to get Chinese visa?

As far as I know, you don't need to obtain such a letter.

Besides your passport and application form, you need the following documents:
1.An invitation letter issued by a individual in China.
2.Photocopy of Chinese ID or foreign passport and residence permit of the inviting individual.
3.Travel itinerary in China
4.Round air tickets.
5.Copy of latest month personal bank statement, which should prove that the applicant has at least 100 USD each day during his/her stay in China.

Nothing above refers to the red sealed invitation letter.
