About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Roundtrip in Shanghai in 2 different periods

What if I land in Shanghai on Dec, 24, I leave for Thailand on Dec, 26 then I am back to Shanghai angai on Jan, 4 and leave Shanghai ai again on Jan, 5 for Italy? Should I apply for two different 72 hrs TWOV? Is it allowed?

The 72h twov was replaced by the 144h long time ago in Shanghai.
You can use it as often as you want.
