About:240-Hour Visa-Free Transit in Guangdong

144-Hour Visa - Madision - Bangkok - Guangzhou - Chicago

Hi,

I am a US Passport holder. Is my itinerary eligible for the 144-hour visa-free transit in Guangzhou?

Joanna, I can tell you that you are eligible for 144 hour visa free transit conditionally because you have written:

Bangkok - Guangzhou - Chicago

It looks fine, but both of us know that you will have an additional stop somewhere because there are no direct passenger flights between Guangzhou and Chicago. This is also fine until your additional stop is in mainland China. If this is a case, you are not eligible for 144 hour visa free transit at all. Quite the contrary, if your additional stop is in some other country, different than both mainland China and Thailand, you will be eligible for 144 hour visa free transit in entire Guangdong province.
