About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit FAQ

Transit visa

I hold Vietnamese passport and I will have flight from Manila to Jeju airport and I will transit at PVG Shanghai Pudong in 1.45 hours (depart) and 9.30 hours (return route). Ask I understand it takes less than 24 hours so I don’t need transit visa, is it right? Thanks

Yes, you're right. Your itinerary is definitely eligible for 24 hour visa free transit and you don't need any kind of visa. You will print out your flight tickets and have those printouts with you. You will declare at check-in in the Philippines that you will travel to Jeju via Shanghai using 24 hour visa free transit. After a short inspection of your tickets, you will be allowed to board the plane.

Upon your arrival in Shanghai, you will just briefly clear a couple of formalities and you will run to the gate for your next flight to Jeju. Your first layover in Shanghai is very short, so I hope that you are flying on a single (through) ticket because otherwise it would not be possible to make a connection.
