About:144-Hour Visa-Free Transit

does this qualify for 144 visa free visit

My friend has a malaysian passport. the route is kuala lumpur to guangzhou (can), to bangkok. can this qualify for 144 hr visa free visit. I have usa passport. for the same route, does this qualify visa free visit 6 day?

If these are all the stops then you can travel without a visa. Your friend will still need a visa because Malaysians are not eligible for 72/144-hour transit to begin with.
