About:240-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Before flying

Do you need to inform anyone or apply online before flying to China for the 72 or 144 hour visa free Transit? How does the airline know you can travel? Thanks

You inform the airline at the airport when you check-in and/or board on the day of travel. You will need to show them your confirmed onward ticket to a third country.
