Very short stay in Chengdu

I’m travelling to Thailand from the UK, via Chengdu. I will be in Chengdu for 3 days... do I still need a visa for China.. or does the exemption apply?

If Chengdu is your only stop within mainland China, you can enjoy 144 hour visa free transit and you don't need any kind of visa. If you are traveling after December 1, you will be allowed to visit several other cities and regions within Sichuan province beside Chengdu:

- Leshan
- Ya'an
- Meishan
- Deyang
- Suining
- Ziyang
- Neijiang
- Luzhou
- Zigong
- Yibin
