About:24-Hour Visa-Free Transit

19 hours transit in PEK

Hi,

I am Indonesia citizen travelling to Paris and I will have 19 hours transit in PEK Beijing.
I really want to see Beijing while I am in transit.
Am I eligible for the 24-hour TWOV of China?
It is still not clear if Indonesia is one of the list...

Yudha, your itinerary and your citizenship are definitely eligible for 24 hour visa free transit and you don't need any kind of visa.

Anyway, to be allowed to exit the airport in Beijing, you have two options:

1. You will approach 24 hour visa free transit counter upon your arrival in Beijing where you will apply for a temporary entry permit. You can also bring a confirmation for your accommodation booking to empower your application. Anyway, you have to know that the issuing of a temporary entry permit is entirely dependent on immigration authorities discretion, so you can never really know whether you will be allowed or not to exit the airport.

2. You can apply for a Chinese transit (G) visa in advance through one of Chinese CVASC that are located in Indonesia.

Now when you know your options, you will make a decision.
