About:China Transit Visa

Transit visa for Malaysian

My flight itinerary is Kuala Lumpur—Shanghai—Toronto. Transit time in Shanghai is about 3 hours. Do I need to apply for a 24hr transit visa? If so, where can I apply, in KL or at Shanghai airport?

If you don't want to leave the airport in Shanghai, you don't need to apply for it. You can follow the signs for international travellers and directly go to the terminal to catch your next flight.

Annie, I heard that recently Malaysians are not eligible for China's 24h visa-free transit, so you may need to apply for a visa. Please confirm this with the airline.
