Two Round Trip Ticket

Hello,

I am looking into traveling to china and south east asia. If I buy a roundtrip flight from the United States to Beijing and then Beijing to the Bangkok will I still be eligible for the 144 hour visa. Upon arrival in beijing, I will already have my other flights booked and have my seats assigned. They will just be on separate reservations. I will then fly from Bangkok - beijing - Us, all this on those same two reservations. Is this acceptable?
