Visa Deadline

Hi,

I am travelling on Nov 2nd overseas needing my passport and travelling to China on November 20th.

Would you advise that if I choose express, schedule my appointment for the week beginning Nov 11th and have my application submitted already - that I should still be within enough time to get a visa.

You have to visit the Dublin Office to hand over your passport and application and then do you need to go back again to collect the visa?

Is your passport held for this period of time?

Just because if I need it to travel November the 2nd, would you advise, I can't make the appointment next week as my passport would be withheld until the visa is processed?

Thank you

Majella

Majella, you can schedule the appointment for the week beginning Nov 11th and submit your application on that day, so you have enough time for visa application because normal application only takes four working days. During this time, your passport is held by the consular office of China embassy. After your visa is issued, you need to go back again to collect the visa. You can make the appointment and travel overseas with your passport. From the time you submit an appointment to the time you go to the office to submit application, you can keep your passport.
